While this Unit is active, another one of my Units destroys an enemy Unit with battle damage. At this time, does this Unit get set as active and the effect end up activated?
No. The Unit is already active, so setting it as active is not performed and the effect does not end up activated. This means its once per turn activation has not occurred at this time.
